| KC8FXR | SO LP ALL | I just got new logging software and had never done WPX before. I started having fun and hung in there for a while with a lousy antenna |
| KE3Q | SO HP ALL | Had a great time. That KQ2M is hard to beat! Congrats to him and to the W3EA station. Tnx to K3ZO for his '96 log to benchmark against. |
| KE4HXU | SO LP 10M | Saturday was great. Band was wide open. Contacted VK4DZ MY 1ST! Another thing that wil always remind me of this contest is the contact with ZL1ANJ on Sunday. I listened to his call for 7 minutes in disbelief..New Zealand. But the thing I'll always remember is all of the great radio operators on. Thanks CQ. |
| KG6OK | SO LP ALL | Just completed building the new station the day before, after being QRT for almost 14 years. The last antenna was installed 2 hours before the start of the contest. Great to be back on the air! |
| KH6T | SO HP 20M | The contest was fun and I found a lot of folks behaving quite nicely considering there was a major contest going on. I remember back in the 80's it wasn't always so pleasant. |
| KJ9C | SO HP ALL | Wind was so strong Saturday that I actually got to watch the tree fall across one of my beverages. LOUD!! |
| KK9A | SO HP 40M | I started the contest on 40M with the intent of spending a few hours to work some DX. I had so much fun and I wound up operating for 24 hours. |
| KL7RA | SO HP 20M | Well, I paid the big bucks for a super chair. Didn't work. My butt hurt all day Monday anyway. |
| KM7TM | SO HP ALL | Worked Vietnam! |
| KN7T | SO LP ALL | Best WPX score ever. Can't wait to get the TH6DXX up! |
| KP2/WJ8C | MSH | This is a great contest! |
| KP3P | MM | We had a lot of fun. This has been the greatest operation of the Puerto Rico Contest Club and the biggest effort in the decade from KP4. Great teamwork. Tnx to KP3P for letting PRCC invade his home |
| KQ2M/3 | SO HP ALL | This operation survived multiple equipment failures and a frightening health problem. Had lots of fun as 15 opened (finally!) and was amazed at the activity out of XU, HL, VU, UA9 and SV. Had my first ever 100 hour of 6 pointers on 80!. Special thanks to WE3A for his hospitality and the use of his fine station. |
| KS4XG | SO HP ALL | Just fooling around between weekend chores. Missed any 10M openings to other than SA if there were any but 15M was a joy that just keeps getting better with each test. |
| KS7T | SO HP ALL | 15 condx spotty to Eu Saturday, but still able to work a few for mults. Still able to work new prefixes in this contest even total over 3500! |
| KT3T/4 | MSH | Had a ball as usual. Just the wife and I this year at new QTH. Next year hope to have new antennas up. |
| KT4W | MSH | Operated with N4RV at his QTH. We're in the process of rebuilding the station. |
| KU4BP | MSH | Last minute change in plans forced us to throw together our first HP effort from N4VHK as M/S (complete with 220 line draped from inside dryer to the shack 50 feet into the yard - a real wife pleaser) |
| KU8E | MM | First time for our group to do multi-multi in WPX SSB. Looking forward to the new points rule next year. |
| LA8ZJA | SO LP ALL | Not much of a score but I beat last year's effort anyway. I'll be back for more. |
| LU2DW | SO HP 15M | Much activity during the Saturday, but the Sunday only can worked the 50% than the first day. Generally good condx with EU, USA and Japan. Not have heard VK-ZK |
| LU2NI | SO HP 20M | Thanks to LU7NN for letting me use his antenna and QTH. |
| LW0D | SO HP 10M | It was the LU6ETB's CQWW revenge! Number 0, many problems and travel for work, making for me a headache contest. |
| LY8X | SA HP 20M | I really enjoyed WPX! Had a lot of fun! Sorry, bad condx to USA on Sunday, especially to East Coast! |
| M8J | MSH | The tribander broke so we had to use the V-beam on all bands. It seemed to work okay, particularly on 15m. This was the first time we have entered WPX and we thoroughly enjoyed it. |
| N0KE | SO QRP ALL | Thanks to W6OAL for having me guest operate his fine station. We used to operate together with the Teenage Amateur Radio Club in Akron OH in the late 50's. |
| N1CS/6 | SO LP ALL | Didn't cook the "Gold Fish" this time, I only ran 100 watts. |
| N3VIA | MSH | We were having fun until about 1800 Zulu Saturday when the tent blew over on us - about 1/2 hour later we were back operating. |
| N4MO | SO LP 15M | Lot less stress on 15 than 20! Condx much better on Saturday than on Sunday! |
| N5KB | MM | Great contest@ This was not a serious effort as I had two new contesters to train. Watch out for us next year. We had a lot of fun. |
| N5OKV | SO LP ALL | JA opening Saturday on 15 meters was awesome. First real attempt in WPX. Glad to see the sunspots back |
| N6TPT | SO LP ALL | I heard a lot more Europeans than heard me. Still got two new countries. |
| N7VY | SO QRP ALL | Funniest comment heard: Contester: "I need a serial number!" Response: "You need the one from my radio??" |
| N8II | SO HP ALL | DX highlight was being called by XU2A, then 3W6WE 3 Q's later in a run of 6 straight mults 2nd day. Condx to JA were very poor on 15M except 1st hr. 20M to JA was fair, but very poor activity. It was fun, one of my favorite tests. Like all the mults/rare prefixes. |
| N8WTH | SO LP ALL | My 1st time working WPX contest - lots of fun! |
| NB1B | SO HP ALL | Condx were great |
| NE5D | SO HP 40M | Disappointed to work fewer than 145 Jas, but pleasantly surprised to work 118 EU stations with just an 80' high Cushcraft 40 meter beam. |
| NI2P | SO HP ALL | What a difference a year can make - I more than doubled my score from last year. |
| NN6NN | MSH | We met all of our goals. It was great to be on the receiving end of a Russian pile-up. |
| NW3Z | SO HP 15M | My first serious effort in WPX. |
| NX5M | MSH | This was my first major multi-op from my new location. We certainly found not having 40m beams up yet leaves us behind the competition. Broke in a couple of new ops to the contesting scene. |
| OE2BZL | SO HP ALL | Was fun to operate first from DL (DK5AD) and the from OE. |
| OG5F | MSH | Missed a few first minutes of the contest because some usual "messing" with the computers. Luckily enough that was about only trouble faced and we could well concentrate on our "mission". |
| OH1RX | SO HP ALL | What wouldn't a club member do to maximize the total score - although bad flu made the operation less enjoyable! One for all and all for CCF! |
| OH5BM | SA HP ALL | Saturday evening strike with some waterpump problems so I had to concentrate more on family wellfare than contesting. |
| OH5LF | MSH | Last multi operation from OH5LF's for a while! |
| OH6NIO | SO HP ALL | Strange condx. From here 20m was very poor, even 15m was much better with a brief evening opening to the states. |
| OK2PCN | SO LP ALL | Thanks for a nice contest. |
| ON4CAS | SO LP ALL | Had to see my doctor on Saturday morning because I catched a bad cold and on Sunday I had to take my son to the hospital's emergency service due to an injury. Fortunately nothing serious. Despite these "hello's" from Mr. Murphy, I enjoyed every moment of this contest. |
| ON50NOL | SO HP 160M | The balloon antenna did very well. We filled the balloon with helium and attached the balloon to a thin copper wire and matching unit was used to get it to 50 ohms. |
