N3ACSO LP 40MThanks to local friends for helping raise the Phoenix 40 on Thursday that was quite an effort! Final details including rotator wiring were barely finished at contest start-time. The antenna (W6NL 40 Moxon, built from the boneyard) at 72' was used in SBLP it worked well, with more than half the contacts being high-pointers. Thanks for all the Q's
N3HCNSO LP ALLThis one is for my Lisa!
N3TJBSO LP 20M100 WATTS, OCF DIPOLE, SK J-38, SINGLE OP
N4CWSO HP ALLThere were good times, then there weren't any! That's how the contest went for me as far as band conditions go. I'm sure I wasn't alone in my observation. 40M was always very productive for me during evenings and a delight to use not so on 20M. However, on the plus side, the operators I worked were always patient and dedicated to making a valid/understood exchange. THANK YOU!
N4FASO LP ALLCLASSIC
N4KSSO HP ALLGood condx. JA, EU, SA, all coming in at the same time
N4NTOSO LP ALLGreat fun! CDX not great, but fun time! A little opening on 10! Cycle is coming up!
N5CWSO HP ALLOperated in short spurts. Always fun. T-8 at 60 ft and low loop sky wire for low bands
N5KAESO LP 20MWow! Europe was booming in!!!
N5MFSO LP ALLGreat Time. Flagpole antenna did a good job
N6DWSO HP ALLWorked in and around holiday weekend activites, but still got 14 hours in. Lots of rain and thunder (not too close) and band conditions ran for sublime to challenging, but there was still lots of fun to be had
N6HISO QRP ALLQRP, just ONE HALF WATT to a 20 Foot End Fed Wire. Band conditions were ... let's say ... 'Fair'? ... I was in and out of the shack, spending time when I could. My goal was to better my last years results ... Nope! I came out just a little under last year, but I learned a lot! I increased power once above 1/2W, to work one station, because my new Icom rig had not yet contacted a Slovak station, and she kept begging me, so I relented. At 5W she happily snagged the OM and I swear her waterfall smiled! My hearty congrats and THANKS to all for your patience. Most copied the exchange perfectly, with only occasional repeats required, a testament to your stations and your skills! There's NO Contest like a CW Contest! Pure hf radio fun! N6MISO HP ALLOperated from the N6MI converted television van (n6mi.com). Conditions were great on 20 meters
N7EPDSO HP ALLA BIG thank you to the CQ WPX folks for allowing assistance for all categories!!! The advantage a multi op station has is they can be on more than one band at a time and have extra ears looking for new ones- that is all. If the extra ears have internet spots then it is just a matter of how fast they can get to them. To classify a single op station as a multi op (AKA assisted) if using spots is ridiculous, we should be able to scoop up the new ones just as fast as our single signal can. I would say around 50% of the multipliers and stations I found in S&P were not on the band map from the internet spots so it was a minor advantage having the assistance. I enjoyed being able to see activity OUTSIDE of the contest (like 6 meters) without being punished for using spots for just that. A lot of spots are bogus/ useless information as well. Started very slow. Was tired after work Friday so not well motivated at the beginning but propagation didn't seem great either. Thought it was going to be a really low score year but Saturday afternoon Europe started rolling in on 20 and things picked up until the end. Ended up with a record score for myself to my surprise!
N7RCSSO QRP ALLCould have boosted my score but 80m was MIA the entire contest for my SFL QTH. Still, had a blast, ending with a personal best for Qs and prefixes
N7RDSO LP 20MConditions not favorable for low power
N7VSSO LP ALLThank you for hosting another interesting contest. Very limited activity on 15 and 10. Europe is still hard to work. Hope to be back next year
N7WYSO HP ALLnot assisted. time on 15.5 hours, FTdx101mp into solid alpha 87a 20 m noisy late Sunday afternoon - some action on 10 meters
N8DESO HP ALLlittle time, but bands were good
N8IISO LP 20MLimited time available. Lots of sporadic E into NA but disappointing volume of NA QSO's. EU was pretty loud even at 15Z here Saturday. Sunday at 1140Z I had a JA run, fb! About'10 JA's called total of 20 worked. Activity really dropped after 16Z Sunday
N8KHSO HP ALLN1MM died in the middle of the contest, with 5.5 hours to go. I lost 3 hours re-configuring it. :-( It died right when switching from S&P to Run. I hadn't previously done S&P in this contest, and when switching back to Run the first time, N1MM locked up hard
N8VWYSO LP ALLIC-7100, NVL OR LOOP, SINGLE PADDLE, ARDUINO KEYER. TU ALL GL 73
N9OKSO HP ALLDecent conditions, with 10M being somewhat open at times. My first time playing in this contest
N9TFSO LP ALLThat was fun! Operated while patching walls and painting, getting our house ready for the market and move to TN later this year. This was my last CQ contest from this QTH. I'll be starting the process of removing antennas from the tower June 1, and tower mid July. N9TF will go QRT from IL right after the ARRL June VHF contest. I was very happy to see good conditions for the WPXCW. 20m was a lot of fun. It stayed open Saturday night into Sunday morning from EU to Asia, and the South Pacific. I could not decide where to park the beam! Lots of activity on the high bands. It was nice to see 10 & 15 open and active. This was a personal best for this station in WPX. I wanted to QRT from this 31 year QTH in style!! I am hoping to be back on the air sometime in October November time frame from EM66 Clarksville, TN. Can't wait to sprawl out antennas on 1.5 acres in the country! As always, thanks for the fun contests. 73 Gene,N9TF Rig, K3S 100 Watts. Antennas, 2 element trbander @ 37', 40/80/160 loaded short dipole 35', 160 inverted L 30' vertical
NA8QSO LP 40MDidn't get as much time as I would have liked but it was still fun to play on 40 this weekend
NB7OSO LP ALLthanks to all who had a hand in making this event happen. This was my first CW only contest. I am very happy with my results. I participated at the suggestion of my CW Academy Advisor. seven three de Kevin

NJ1TSO LP ALLwow the scores I heard out there .. Congratulations and thanks to all
NK4OSO LP ALLPut up a new horizontal loop days before the WPX. It worked so much better than the INV V that has been in use for about 9 months now. Enjoyed running classic mode! 73 AJ NK4O
NL7VSO HP ALLGood CW practice for me
NM5GSO HP 20MNot much time available this year. XYL diagnosed with colorectal cancer two months ago, and takes a lot of my time to help with home care. Good news is she is reacting well to treatment and should be cancer-free in a couple of months. Enjoyed great conditions during operation, and had lots of fun. Probably had a few busted calls because of missed number copies. Icom 7610 Alpha 87A Palstar HF-Auto BuckMaster OCF dipole Palomar MC-1-3000 Maxi-Choker at balun and amplifier connections Worked several stations in Australia and New Zealand. Also a few in Norway and Sweden
NN2NNSO HP ALLGreat propagation. Nice to have 20 meters open well into the night and to have openings on 10 and 15 meters. Hectic weekend here at home so not as much air time as I wish. Thanks for all the Q's! Until the next contest, 73. Steve NN2NN
NN3LSO HP 40MBroke the old record, but kudos to K3UA for doing even better!
NN4SSSO HP ALLThis is the corrected log. Please use this one
NN7SSSO QRP ALL100 Q's in less than 3 hours, just for fun. I spent too much time on 10m, where another half-dozen guys couldn't hear me. 15m was fun, but just not enough people. So I waded upt o 20m to get the numbers. Some good CW fun, thanks! NN7SS (K6UFO) 10m, 15m, 20m: GXP 3 element yagi at 72 feet Flex-6600 at 5 watts RemoteHamRadio.com, Writelog
NN8UUSO LP ALLSomewhat lower local noise and good propagation conditions combined to make this a fun contest. Didn't spend much time the first night and missed most of the 20m European opening Saturday afternoon, but made up for it on Sunday. LZ9W and 9A3XV were unexpected on 15m towards the end. Glad they were able to hear my, I'm sure, extremely weak signal. Working on fixing that issue, not having a good 15m signal is not fun. Took down my 160m vertical on Saturday (18m spiderpole) so no 160m qsos. Dah dit dit dit dah Kept a run frequency on 20m Sunday afternoon, but lost it quickly late Sunday to a well known east coast station. Too bad I wasn't able to make myself heard by them despite making contacts in their area. Puzzling how that works
NO2DSO LP 20MVery little time to operate. 20 meters open to Europe from Friday through Sunday. pvi no2d
NO3USO HP 40MCQ WPX CW is always a fun contest! 73 de NO3U, Otto
NO8DXSO HP ALLBoth Classic and Tribander, but could only pick one
NO9ESO HP ALLFlex6600, JK Mid Tri 40 at 30m and Jk Mid Tri at 20m, Spiderbeam at 13m, and 4 sq on 80m. 200-300m beverages to 7 directions. Pretty decent conditions on 20m, with weird propagation on Sunday AM, with JA calling strong when the stack was pointing to EU. On Saturday PM, the best setup on 20m was running stack with one antenna pointing to NE and another to NW, with diversity from beverages. Beverages allowed for fast switching and often heard better than the beams. Decent conditions on 15m and 100 QSOs on 10m. Even 80m was good but too much static. After new firmware upgrade, Flex 6600 did not crash unlike in previous contests although occasionally CW memories in N1MM+ froze, creating embarrassment when an exchange could not be sent
NR4MSO LP ALLGreat fun. Thanks to Steve for the use of NR4M, which will be back next year full bore M/M. DM0A had terrible key clicks on 20. Chronic shoulder pain killed my fun Saturday evening!
