W2RQChecklogJust sending in as checklog. I did not really log the first 15 or so QSOs
W2XXSO HP ALL15 seemed to be the place to be all weekend. 10 was variable at best and i didn't got to the low bands at all since I was just playing around on and off all weekend. 71 foot end fed wire and first weekend with the new Mercury IIIS amplifier
W3GXSO LP 20MNah... Still too fast. To do this contest you need a CW decoder and pre-recorded messages. When in CW contests I forget trying to copy far end exchange info. I'm great if I get his or her call sign right. (That at least constitues a 'QSO,' folks!). But after 1-1/2 hours--and just one, three-character call sign in the log--that's it... Gonna stick with 'till I copy 'real' 20 wpm. But with 76 years, and prostate cancer, it'll be close. 73 'till next time

W6FBSO LP ALLGreat contest. Just missed my goal of 1000 Qs, but hit the 1M score goal. Money bands were 20 and 15. New C3S-JK really proved its worth in this one. Tnx for the Qs!
W6JBRSO HP ALLHad issues on my PC with N1MM+ locking up, switched to DXLog for first time. While it worked FB, I do prefer using N1MM+, and hope to resolve the issue. Did not play as much as I would have liked but did have fun for a bit. Thanks for the Qs. 73 de John W6JBR Rig: K3/100 + P3 Keyer: WinKeyer3 USB Amp: ACOM 1000 Tuner: RT-3000 Ant: HF-2V CPU: Dell Optiplex 990 Win10 Logger: DXLog
W6QUSO QRP ALLConditions were great. I did not operate nearly as much as I normally do because I was preoccupied with chasing FT4GL as one of the 12 'entities' I need to 'have them all' with my modest QRP station. I converted the laptop to work FT8 during the contest and it paid off, I did get them!

WQ3OSO HP ALLFirst contest as an extra and very pleased with the performance
WQ6XSO QRP ALLThis was the 2nd WQ6X QRP WPX contest run from KN6NBT's QTH in Ramona. This QTH is where the exiled Tower#2 trailer from NX6T in Fallbrook has been living happily. The same 3-el Stepp-IR and Mosley Shorty-40 was reprised at 55' atop the motor-crank tower. For 80-meters, a double-bazooka at least made operation on the band - barely. Currently there is no 160 in Ramona. Thanks to OTH RADAR OBLITERATING the spectrum when I checked 40m @11:00z on BOTH mornings, 40-meters wasn't what it could be. Swinging the yagi made it CLEAR that the source of the radar was Eastern Russian. On the PLUS side, 20-m open to EU until well after 06:00z both nights and 15-meters open to South America and EU most of both days was AWEsome. While 10-meters produced some activity (esp. South America), it was overall one big HO-Hummer. A BiG disappointment was the PooR participation from Asian stations. The K3/0 mini in my Alameda office allowed me to get started shortly after the contest started. The K3/0 was also run from the Oakland Yacht club in Alameda for the Amateur Radio Club of Alameda's monthly meeting, where ironically I gave a power point talk on Space-WX and solar storms and a live demonstration of Weird Prefix Contest pandemonium. Then, for the rest of the weekend, the K3/0 Mini ran remotely from W7AYT's QTH in Concord. This weekend brought us LoTs of fading and some interestingly distorted sounding signals especially over the pole into Europe. Raspy and hollow sounding signals were quite frequent on 15 and 20. While running QRP was indeed a challenge, I am indebted to those kilowatt stations who sometimes (inadvertently) stood by and gave me a momentarily QUIET frequency to slip my QRP-signal into. WQ6X/QRP busted MANY pileups. LooK for a write-up on this soon at: http://WQ6X.Blogspot.com
