K3CCR | M2 | K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. In WPX SSB 2020 N3UM and W3GB operated HP Multi-2, with a 6-ft. hyphen. Our goals were to stay safe, and to beat our best WPX SSB result of 910 Qs and 1.2M claimed score in 2018. We did that, with a claimed score just over 2M. Condx were good, Kp and QRN low, and activity very high (ops shut in?). We made a fast start 00-04Z. W3GB got 90 high-point Qs on 40m. N3UM got 41 Qs on 20m, 00-01Z, then got 240 Qs on 80m, 151 of them in a run 0207-0314Z at 135/ hr. In 4 hr. we got 1073 QSO points, 35% of our final total, in 15% of total hrs, and 265 mults. Rate died after 04Z W3GB got 34 more pts and 6 mults by 05Z QRT. Sat. AM 12-17Z we got 344 Q pts and 70 mults from mostly 3-pt Qs, with W3GB on 20m. and N3UM on 15m. From 17-20Z we got 294 Q pts, most in fast runs of 1-pt. W/Ks. W3GB ran for 120 Qs on 40, N3UM for 75 Qs on 20m. We got 104 pts on 15 and 20 m, 20-21Z. From 2312-0222Z QRT we got 448 points with N3UM on 40m. and W3GB on 20 and then 80m. We got 116 of 182 total Qs in 4 short runs, 2 each. Sun. AM 1226-1426Z N3UM ran for 87 of 110 Qs on 20, 90% EUs. W3GB got on 20m. at 1438Z and stayed there for 135 Qs + 5 on 40m. till QRT at 2244Z when rate died, steady thru the slow Sun. PM. After a break N3UM got 48 more Qs on 15m. Our total was 441 more points 15-23Z. We ran for 45% of total Qs. Rare/distant mults 5T, 5Z, 9K, JA, JT, and KH2, plus A4, A6, A7, and ZL on 40m, and FR and KH6 on 15m |
