With K=8 on Friday night, we experienced the full range of propagation from awful bottom of sunspot cycle cndx and dead bands to awesome top of the cycle band openings less than 36 hours later! How else can it be explained when stations make qso totals in the thousands following a G4 solar storm and an aurora right b4 the contest. My 100w. wasn't amongst them but D4Z and 9G4X calling me on 20 made my night! |

I need to get better with the switch to night operating. I found it a great way/place to pick up some good multipliers state-side on 40m SSB |
