| P45A | SO HP 15M | I was able to use the P45 PFX once again this year, celebrating 50 years Aruba Anthem & Flag and 40 years Status Aparte, so had lots of fun again! Had a feeling the band was not as good as last year and on top of that made a rookie mistake on Friday evening, due to my rotor control set-up, of beaming in the wrong direction for the US, loosing most probably a good run in the US that evening.... Europe was great on Saturday with great signals and a good consistent pile-up, Sunday was not as good. Issue remains being spotted wrongly, P44A, P54A and CP45A where just a few this time around. When a few dupes after each other start to show up, you know some one spotted you wrong, especially when the other side insist they did not work you yet.... Clearly, AI does not understand that either, so it is of no use to try to explain that to AI when being called for the third time by that station. All by all did a little better then last year and also in 2016 when I used the P45 PFX for the first time. TNX to all that gave me a call and had the patience bearing with me sometimes to pull out their call and number exchange, especially some JA's that were just above my noise level! Great to hear a couple more locals on the air, so congrats also go to P43K, P43L and P49Y for their great efforts! Using: Yaesu FTDX5000, Heil HC5, Acom 2000A, single home brewed 5 El. Yagi at 50' and N1MM logging 73's de P43A, Jean-Pierre |
