The conditions were soooo good I thought I was operating a much bigger station. I got choked up when I worked Phil, W6PS a reissued vanity call from a dear ole friend Dave. I (WN6WBD) met Dave (WN6GUO) in the late 50's when we were Novices in Junior High School in California. Dave passed away six years ago so Phil and I had a quick chat about my friendship with Dave. Putting in a little over 30 hours in the chair is quite an unusual weekend for me who is about to complete the 80th lap around the sun. Running into old friends like Steve, WK5T, my contest Guru from the 80’s, when he lived in CO, getting a Q with Rabby, S21RC, Robert 9N7AA, working the E2’s, running JA’s and having a number of good laughs with contacts kept me in that chair. The Happy Dance I was doing at the end of the contest is still continuing this AM as I write this. Thanks to all for the Q's! Cheers, Marv W0PSY |
