CQ WPX Contest Triathlon Award

The CQ Triathalon Award was created in 2012 to recognize the best combined scores from the CQ WPX RTTY, SSB, and CW contests. The award was conceived by Rudy Bakalov, N2WQ. Rudy sponsor a plaque for this triple-mode challenge.

Award rules:

  1. The CQ Triathlon Award is open to everyone who operates in any Single-Op category in all three CQ WPX contests: RTTY, SSB and CW.
  2. Contenders must make a minimum of 500 QSOs in each mode.
  3. Any Single-Op category may be used in each mode: Single-Op All Band or Single Band, Single-Op Assisted, and any power category. These can be different for each mode.
  4. The Single-Op can operate from any location and the location for each mode may be different.
  5. Score will be based on the total score from all three contests.
  6. Results will be included with the CQ WPX CW results.

WPX Rules for 2013

The updated rules for the 2013 WPX Contest (SSB/CW) are now available on the web site at http://www.cqwpx.com/rules.htm.

The English version shows the changes marked in red text. A brief summary of the changes:

IV(c) – Clarifies that power is measured at the output of the transmitter/amplifier.

IV(f) – Adds text that prohibits use of remote receivers away from the operating site.

IV(h) – New rule that requires stations using more than one transmitter on a band to have a mechanical lockout in order to prevent more than one transmitted signal at a time.

IV(i) – New rule that prohibits correction of call signs after the contest by using outside databases or other sources of information.

VB(c) – Adds QRP Assisted category.

XI(b) and (c) – Clarifies how club scores will be counted for DXpeditions and multi-operator stations.

XI(f) – Provides new address for mailing paper logs.

XV – The log deadline is now 5 days after the end of the contest.

WPX CW 2012 Log Checking Completed

The log checking process for the 2012 CQ WPX CW Contest is now complete. A few statistics from the log checking software.
