WPX CW 2009 High Claimed Scores

The complete listing of high claimed scores for the CQ WPX Contest CW 2009 are now available at http://www.cqwpx.com/claimed_2009_wpx_cw_scores.htm.

Scores shown are those claimed by the participants.  Not all scores are calculated correctly. For logs where an entrant did not provide a claimed score we have substituted their calculated score before checking. Paper logs received by post are not included.

The purpose of the high claimed scores is to give entrants an opportunity to confirm that their entry has been submitted in the correct category and to get a first look at the competition.  Please send any corrections or questions to k5zd@cqwpx.com.

A team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers are helping to type all paper logs into the computer so they can be included in the computer log checking. Thanks go to WA1Z, W1UE, W2JU, K2DSL, W1KQ, W1ZT, KM1P, NJ1F, W1TO, W4AU, W1KM, N8RA, and N1NK. Couldn’t do it without them!

By the time all of the paper logs are entered, the WPX CW will have achieved a record number of log submissions with over 3600 logs!  Checklogs are still welcome to cw@cqwpx.com.

I am experimenting with Twitter as a way to help people get behind the scenes of managing a major worldwide contest such as CQ WPX. Follow the full year journey through processing 7000+ logs, generating the results, managing the web site, and answering questions about the rules.  I may also report the occasional joy or frustration that comes with the job. Visit  http://twitter.com/cqwpx

Official announcements will continue to be made on the cqwpx.com web site and blog at http://www.cqwpx.com/blog/

The Twitter feed is just for fun and education.  If you follow along, feel free to send me comments about what you read or learn!

Final Log Total for 2009 WPX SSB

I am very pleased to report that we exceeded our goal of log submissions for the SSB edition of the CQ WPX Contest this year.  The current total is 4084 (well above the 3728 from last year)!  Thanks to each of you for getting on the air during the contest AND for submitting your log.

I really appreciate the help from enthusiastic Yankee Clipper Contest Club volunteers who took on the job of typing in the 70+ paper logs that were received.  Three cheers to WA1Z, W1UE, N1NK, N8RA, W1TO, W1KM, W1ZT, WO1N, and W2JU for their hours of reading difficult handwriting and carefully converting them into  Cabrillo format log files.

Deadline for the CW contest logs is coming up July 1.  The robot has already received and processed over 2900 logs!  Please send your CW log, no matter how big or small, to cw@cqwpx.com.  The list of logs received can be found at http://www.cqwpx.com/logs_received_cw.htm — please take a quick look and make sure your log is there.
